The 2010 Wandering Foot Quilters Raffle Quilt

QUILT SHOW INFO:
Every other year Wandering Foot has a quilt show. Anyone in the guild is eligible to have quilts in the show. This is not a judged show, but we have a viewer’s choice vote for best in show. In addition to the quilt show we have a challenge, this year the challenge is to make a postcard quilt with a theme from a previous quilt show. The quilt show will have vendor booths with quilt related items for sale and a boutique store. Every member should contribute items to the boutique, we will have some “Super Saturday” work days to make boutique items – but other contributions are welcome.
The quilt show is a fund raising opportunity for us. We charge a nominal entrance fee and generate some money from vendor booths and the boutique. We also sell raffle tickets for a beautiful quilt. Every member is required to sell raffle tickets – more information on that will follow from the raffle committee. This year we are considering adding a quilt sale. Members would be able to sell quilts at the quilt show and part of the proceeds would go to the guild. We will be discussing this and other items of business at the next committee meeting which is February 23rd at 6pm at the Oak Creek Community Center. All committee chair are asked to attend, but any members are welcome to participate. There are lots of opportunities to volunteer for the quilt show and the committee chairs will start having sign up sheets for various committees.
Happy Quilting from your Quilt Show Committee chair, Janet Balson
