Are you ready? We’re less than a month away from our 2012 Quilt Show Twisting Traditions, and we couldn’t be more excited! We have so many quilts and boutique items to share with you and wonderful vendors for you to meet. Mark your calendars for October 20 and 21 and join us at American Legion Post 434 in Oak Creek. Admission is only $5 – see ya real soon!
Our speaker for the August 21st meeting is Laura Krasinski and she’ll be presenting Art on the Run. After taking a traditional quilt class about seven years ago, she immediately fell in love with art quilts! She will tell us about Big Fork Bay Cotton Company and show us their patterns, plus many quilted items.
She is developing patterns of her own and will share those with us as well as examples of her fused appliqué that is simply beautiful (and not difficult to do!). Her ideas are very inspiring and we can’t wait to have her join us for the evening!

Did you know that not only is March 17, 2012 St. Patrick’s Day, but it’s also National Quilting Day? In June 1991, the National Quilting Association passed a resolution at their annual quilt show in Lincoln, Nebraska designating the third Saturday in March as National Quilting Day, a day to appreciate and recognize quilters and their craft (click here to learn more: National Quilting Day history). So grab some green beer, put on The Quiet Man, and snuggle under your favorite quilt!
